Situé au cœur du village de Houtave, à l'angle de la Dorpsstraat, aujourd'hui Kerkhofstraat et de Zakstraat, nous trouvons le café 'Drie Koningen'. L'auberge était certainement ouverte depuis le milieu du XVIIe siècle et était avec l'actuel 'Travalie' et 'Muziekantje' une ferme. Pendant et après la Révolution française, l'auberge faisait également office de mairie, il convient de noter que Houtave était le chef-lieu de canton du département de la Leie, dont Blankenberge faisait également partie. L'auberge a servi de décor pour l'adaptation télévisée de la série VTM 'De Kavijaks'.
