L'ancien grand institut zoologique de la KU Leuven était autrefois une ferme rattachée à Salve Mater, mais depuis 1978, c'est un centre de recherche sur l'amélioration du bien-être animal et de l'environnement. L'emplacement se trouve le long d'un chemin d'apprentissage agricole. C'est une promenade à travers des paysages agricoles et boisés. Le parcours est accessible au grand public et est principalement destiné à rendre l'agriculture plus accessible et à établir un contact avec les agriculteurs et leurs entreprises.
