Description

Un pin sylvestre (Pinus sylvestris), le long de la Molenweg à Niel-bij-As, a reçu le nom de 'Dikke Den'. Le pin a un tour de tronc de 317 cm (mesuré en 2012) et est l'un des plus hauts, plus épais et plus anciens de sa espèce dans cette région. Le pin se trouve le long d'un chemin piétonnier qui relie l'Ancienne Molenweg à la Smispoelstraat et a été planté autrefois comme arbre d'angle pour marquer les limites cadastrales. En raison de sa taille actuelle et de sa belle forme de croissance représentative, il constitue un élément emblématique.
