Cette région, particulièrement salubre, est privilégiée de la nature par la présence d'eau minérale d'une rare pureté. Ces sources (Pouhon du Bru) sont connues depuis la plus haute antiquité. En 1903, la commune de Chevron loua les sources à une société privée qui créa à Bru la première exploitation industrielle de captation et de mise en bouteille.
