Dans le nord de la Botte de Hainaut, juste à la frontière avec la province de Namur, un grand complexe de barrages a été construit sur, entre autres, le petit ruisseau de l'Eau d'Heure. Ainsi, une série de réservoirs a vu le jour, très irréguliers en raison du relief ondulant du fond. Cela a permis de résoudre un certain nombre de problèmes de gestion de l'eau, mais on a également profité de cet endroit pour en faire un paradis récréatif. Afin de prévenir la formation de plages boueuses, trois barrages de pré-comblement ont été construits : Falemprise (226 m), Ri Jaune (252 m) et Féronval (142 m).
