Cette « grotte » a été créée peu après 1930 à l'initiative de l'abbé Gustave Hubaux, curé de Dieupart, décédé en 1935.
On l'appelle aussi « Arcade de la vierge » .
Il est situé le long du sentier du docteur Thiry qui traverse le quartier dit des "rochers de vieux jardin" et est visible depuis la N633 à proximité de l'église Notre-Dame de Dieupart.
En 2024, la statue de la Vierge Marie semble avoir disparu.
