Peyto Lake se trouve sur la Icefields Parkway du le parc national Banff (Alberta). Le lac est alimenté par l'eau du ruisseau du glacier Peyto qui donne la couleur typique et bleu spéciale. Peyto Laje a été nommé par Bill Peyto (1869 - 1943), un pionnier et guide de montagne dans le parc national Banff.
