L’Inspection fédérale de la sécurité nucléaire est l'autorité de surveillance suisse pour la sécurité et la sûreté des installations nucléaires dans le pays. Son siège est à Brugg dans le canton d'Argovie. Elle emploie environ 170 personnes.
Elle rend compte au Conseil fédéral mais doit mener sa surveillance indépendamment de considérations économiques ou politiques. Elle est chargée de la sécurité et la sûreté des cinq centrales nucléaires suisses ainsi que des installations de recherche .
