Ce voyage commence au réservoir de Mattmark au-dessus de Saas-Almagell et vous emmène le long du lac jusqu’au col de Monte Moro, où vous traversez la frontière italienne. Il y a aussi une statue dorée de Marie au sommet. Ce col de montagne était souvent utilisé par les contrebandiers dans le passé. Du côté italien, il y a aussi un « Rifugio » où vous pouvez manger / boire quelque chose. Le retour se fait de la même manière, mais vous pouvez marcher de l’autre côté du lac. Si vous êtes en forme, vous pouvez retourner à pied à Saas-Almagell.
Lorsque j’ai fait cette randonnée, il y avait encore beaucoup de champs de neige que je devais traverser, ce qui en faisait une randonnée T3+. Le temps de randonnée était de 5,5 heures à une vitesse nominale de 5,6 km/h
