Le château de Schönecken est un château de colline en ruine situé à 467 m au-dessus du niveau de la mer au-dessus du village de Schönecken dans la vallée de Nims dans les montagnes de l’Eifel occidental. Il se trouve dans le comté de Bitburg-Prüm dans le Land allemand de Rhénanie-Palatinat.
Le château se dresse sur la crête la plus basse de la colline au milieu d’une cuvette de vallée. Le site est gardé de tous côtés par des collines plus élevées.
