La Elsava est un affluent droit de 25 km de long du Main dans les arrondissements d'Aschaffenburg et de Miltenberg dans le Spessart bavarois.
Le nom original Elsapha vient du mot alémanique Els pour aulne et du mot indo-européen Ap - qui signifie eau. En conséquence, cela signifie "un cours d'eau composé d'aulnes". La rivière a donné son nom à la commune d'Elsenfeld. Un origine de nom similaire a également la rivière Aschaff qui coule à proximité et l'Els qui coule dans la Rhön.
