La forêt de Ziegelrodaer est une zone forestière d'environ 8200 hectares, située en grande partie en Saxe-Anhalt, à la frontière de la Thuringe. Elle s'étend de la ville de Nebra au bord de l'Unstrut, au sud-est, jusqu'à Allstedt au nord-ouest. L'étendue maximale dans la direction nord-sud est d'environ 18 km, et dans la direction est-ouest 12 km. Le village, situé sur une grande clairière au centre de la forêt, donne son nom à la région. Depuis 2004, Ziegelroda est un quartier de Querfurt. La plus grande partie de la zone fait partie du parc naturel Saale-Unstrut-Triasland.
La forêt se trouve sur le plateau de grès coloré de Ziegelrodaer, qui est adjacent à l'ouest à la plate-forme de Querfurt. En termes de paysage naturel, elle est attribuée à la région montagneuse et vallonnée de l'Unstrut inférieur.
