Sattelbogen est une commune allemande située dans le district administratif du Haut-Palatinat, dans l’arrondissement administratif de Cham, dans l’est de la Bavière. La commune indépendante de Sattelbogen a fusionné avec les communes de Traitsching et de Sattelpeilnstein en 1972.
Les agriculteurs de cette chaîne de montagnes basses vivaient à l’origine de l’agriculture du bois et de l’élevage. Aujourd’hui, il y a deux hôtels, une scierie, une station-service et une piscine extérieure chauffée. Dans les années 1970, un village de vacances familial avec 60 cabanes en rondins de deux étages a été construit. Le tourisme bénéficie entre autres du parc naturel de la forêt bavaroise et des possibilités de sports d’hiver.
