La saline de Salzkotten était probablement une saline fondée au XIe siècle à Salzkotten, dans le land de Rhénanie-du-Nord-Westphalie, dans l'ancien principauté épiscopale de Paderborn.
La première mention de la source saline de Salzkotten apparaît dans les documents de l'année 1011 lors de la donation du comté de Haholt par le roi Henri II à l'évêque Meinwerk de Paderborn. La plus ancienne mention documentée de l'extraction commerciale de sel à Salzkotten remonte à l'année 1160. Cette année-là, l'évêque Bernard Ier d'Oesede a offert au monastère cistercien de Hardehausen trois chaudières de salaison à Salzkotten. En 1294, un syndicat de salin de Salzkotten est attesté, qui possédait déjà des droits de participation sur le puits salin commun de Salzkotten. À partir de ce moment-là, le nombre d'installations salières établies à Salzkotten était toujours de 24.
