Christoph 9 est un hélicoptère de secours exploité par le Ministère fédéral de l'Intérieur à la clinique d'accidents de la Chambre des professions de Duisburg, dans le quartier sud de Buchholz. L'équipage de trois personnes réalise chaque année jusqu'à 1 300 interventions dans un rayon de 50 kilomètres autour du centre de secours aérien ouvert le 16 septembre 1975 dans le sud de Duisburg. Depuis une coopération Euregio en 2003, Christoph 9 est également appelé pour des interventions transfrontalières aux Pays-Bas. En février 2008, un nouvel hélicoptère de type Eurocopter EC 135 T2i a été mis en service, remplaçant le BO 105 âgé de douze ans.
