Le Hebel-Gymnasium est le plus grand des cinq lycées municipaux d’enseignement général de Pforzheim. Il a été nommé d’après le poète dialectal de Bade Johann Peter Hebel.
Sur le site de l’actuel Hebel-Gymnasium se trouvait l’Oberrealschule, inaugurée le 28 juillet 1911 et détruite le 23 février 1945. Après la guerre, le bâtiment de l’école a été reconstruit, qui abrite aujourd’hui le gymnase Hebel. Comme le gymnase voisin de Reuchlin n’a pas été reconstruit, il a été invité au gymnase Hebel de 1948 à 1968.
