Le hameau est situé à une altitude de 130 m au-dessus du niveau de la mer sur les pentes du pays de Berg et du Nutscheid. Les localités voisines sont Oberauel au sud-ouest et Niederhalberg au nord.
Jusqu'au 1er août 1969, la localité de Berg appartenait à la commune de Lauthausen, dans le cadre de la réorganisation communale de la région de Bonn, Lauthausen, et donc le village de Berg, ont été rattachés à la nouvelle commune sans bureau de l'administration "Hennef".
