Les vestiges du château de Torstein, anciennement appelé Thorstein, sont une forteresse disparue située sur une crête montagneuse près de Bad Tabarz dans le district de Gotha, dans la forêt de Thuringe.
Le site du château se dresse sur un petit rocher de 566 m d'altitude au-dessus du niveau de la mer, appelé Kleiner Wagenberg, à environ 80 m au-dessus de Lauchagrund. Il se trouve à environ 3 km au sud-ouest de Tabarz. Juste à côté du château passe une route commerciale médiévale montant vers la Grenzwiese - Kleiner Inselsberg, l'actuelle L 1024. Sur cette route se trouvaient également les châteaux de Stolzenburg et de Leuchtenburg, situés à seulement 1 km.
