L’Elsterbach est un affluent nord-nord-ouest et droit du Rhin dans le Rheingau de neuf kilomètres de long.
L’Elsterbach prend sa source à quelques 100 m au nord du quartier de Geisenheim à Stephanshausen, sur un versant sud boisé des montagnes du Rheingau, à une altitude d’environ 400 m. Elle coule en direction du sud à travers le centre de Stephanshausen avant de disparaître à nouveau dans la forêt, où elle est toujours alimentée par un affluent droit, le Grundscheidbach.
