Saintes [sɛ̃t] est une commune du sud-ouest de la France, située dans le département de la Charente-Maritime . Ses habitants sont appelés les Saintais et les Saintaises.Deuxième ville du département derrière La Rochelle, cette ville moyenne compte 25 287 habitants et est à la tête d'une unité urbaine de 30 086 habitants et d'une aire urbaine de 60 975 habitants .
