Monthermé est une commune française, située dans le département des Ardennes en région Grand Est.Les habitants de la ville de Monthermé sont appelés « Baraquins ». Ce nom aurait pour origine les habitants des quelques maisons ouvrières situées en bord de Semoy près d'un ancien moulin, à l'entrée de la voie Trans-Semoysienne. On les appelait « ceux des baraques ». D'après quelques anciens, ce n'est que dans les années 1950 que le nom de Baraquin s'est généralisé à toute la population.
