Comme un petit air de déjà-vu, ne trouvez-vous pas? Ce château d'eau, caractéristique de l'architecture de fer du 19e siècle, caché en forêt d'Halatte à quelques kilomètres de Senlis vous surprendra! Si la rumeur locale affirme que c’est bien Eiffel qui a construit cette tour, l’identité du véritable auteur de l’ouvrage n’est pas connue. Mais on peut vraisemblablement en attribuer la réalisation à un de ses élèves. Il s'agit du seul château d'eau métallique du nord de la France. Construit initialement, vers 1895, pour alimenter en eau une écurie de pur-sang appartenant au chocolatier Albert Menier, le château d'eau est actuellement un réservoir communal. Le saviez-vous? Comme la Tour Eiffel, le château d’eau doit être repeint tous les huit ans!
