Whitby /ˈwɪtbi/ est une ville portuaire du Yorkshire du Nord, en Angleterre. Situé à 76 km de York, à l'embouchure de l'Esk, c'est un port de pêche et une destination touristique. Sa population est de 13 594 habitants en 2001.
La ville s'est développée autour de l'abbaye de Whitby, fondée en 655, et où se tint le concile de Whitby en 664.
