Cette maison a été conçue par un ami architecte, John O’Gorman, en 1930. C'était le premier bâtiment au Mexique dans le style du fondateur de l'architecture moderne, Le Corbusier. Alors que le bâtiment bleu à droite a été occupé par Frida Kahlo (uniquement pendant certaines périodes, car elle préférait la Casa Azul à Coyoacán), Diego Rivera a travaillé intensément dans le bâtiment de gauche, produisant environ 4000 peintures sur chevalet jusqu'à sa mort en 1957. Vous pouvez visiter l'atelier qui abrite un petit musée d'objets personnels, de photos, de matériaux de peinture et d'art populaire. Le musée organise des expositions temporaires.
