Le "Grote Plas" est né dans les années 60 du 20ème siècle par l'extraction de sable pour la création de nouveaux quartiers résidentiels dans les environs. Au bord de l'eau se trouve maintenant la zone de loisirs Delfse Hout, avec notamment un enclos à cerfs, une ferme pour enfants avec aire de jeux aquatique, une plage et un camping. Divers chemins cyclables et pédestres traversent la zone, n'hésitez donc pas à vous éloigner de l'itinéraire GPX.
