Nommée d'après la restauration de la couronne portugaise après 60 ans sous un roi espagnol, cette place possède un obélisque central, érigé en 1886, pour commémorer l'événement. La place est entourée de bâtiments intéressants, y compris le palais du 18ème siècle "Palácio Foz". Vous pouvez voir sur votre gauche l'architecture néo-manueline monumentale de la gare de Rossio. Ici commence l'avenue de la Liberté, la principale avenue de la ville.
