Mühlbachl è un ex comune con 1453 abitanti nel distretto di Innsbruck-Land in Tirolo. L'ex comune si trova nel distretto giudiziario di Innsbruck. Mühlbachl si trova sul lato occidentale della Valle Wipp, a nord. L'ampia area del comune si estende dalla pendici meridionali del Schönberg lungo il bosco di Matrei fino al confine comunale con Steinach, presso l'imbocco della Valle Navis. Per molti versi, Mühlbachl è collegato a Matrei am Brenner, Pfons e in parte a Navis. Il punto più alto è con 2717 m s.l.m. la cima del Serles, che Goethe definì come "l'Altare Maggiore del Tirolo".
