Dopo una riposante notte trascorsa a Pinegg si va dalla locanda Gasthof Gwercherwirt attraverso il ponte sul Brandenberger Ache e lungo il sentiero Jägersteig fino alla frazione Aschau della località di Brandenberg. Dopo un breve tratto sulla via Dorfstraße fino a Burgstallgraben, si prosegue in salita per Wimm, in direzione del Wimmerjoch e della vecchia malga Lahnalm. Attraverso la conca del Weißenbachgraben il sentiero porta a un angolo di paradiso: Steinberg am Rofan. Nonostante il paesaggio sia tanto magnifico, sentiamo comunque il richiamo dell'aquila che ci spinge a proseguire: attraverso il fiume Steinberger Ache verso Vordersteinberg e, successivamente, lungo il sentiero Bärenwaldweg fino a raggiungere l'accogliente locanda Gasthof Waldhäusl dove è possibile pernottare.
