Il trappista belga Westvleteren XII è stato nuovamente eletto miglior birra del mondo durante i RateBeer Awards 2014. Questo emerge dalla top 100 delle migliori birre del mondo, che il sito birrario americano RateBeer ha reso noto. Inoltre, altre nove birre belghe sono state incluse nella lista. Il Westvleteren XII si aggiudica per il quarto anno consecutivo il primo posto. Il comune belga di Vleteren è fortemente presente nella lista delle migliori birre del mondo. Oltre al Westvleteren XII, l'Extra 8 di Westvleteren ha raggiunto la top-100. Inoltre, sono state incluse nella lista internazionale anche le Black Albert, Pannepot e Pannepot Reserva della birreria De Struise Brouwers di Oostvleteren. Sono stati inoltre premiati anche il Sint-Bernardus Abt 12, il Gouden Carolus Cuvée van de Keizer, la lambic alle lamponi Hommage di 3 Fonteinen di Beersel, il Bush de Nuits (Scaldis Prestige de Nuits) della birreria Dubuisson e il trappista Rochefort 10.
