Ogni anno nella Grand Place si svolge un grande spettacolo: il Combat du Lumeçon - una lotta simbolica in cui un San Giorgio, a cavallo di un destriero corazzato, trafigge un drago (chiamato lumeçon, cioè verme) proprio nel momento in cui il campanile segna le 13.00. Questa celebrazione, unica in Belgio, si tiene ogni anno la domenica della Trinità, la domenica dopo Pentecoste (maggio o giugno). Fa parte di una processione. Nella Car d'Or, la mattina della Ducasse, il reliquario di Sant'Waltrude viene portato in processione per la città, una tradizione che ha le sue origini nel 1348, quando l'area di Mons fu colpita dalla peste. Il corteo parte alle 10.00.
