Gooik è un comune nella provincia belga di Fiandre-Brabante e nell'arrondissement di Halle-Vilvoorde. Il comune conta più di 9000 abitanti e si definisce "la perla del Pajottenland".
Dall'epoca carolingia fino all'undicesimo secolo, il comune unito di Gooik si trovava nella Brabanzia. La frazione di Gooik è già menzionata nel nono secolo come proprietà dell'abbazia di Sint-Gertrude a Nivelles. Successivamente, la frazione di Gooik, fino alla fine del diciottesimo secolo, si trovava nel quartiere di Bruxelles del ducato di Brabante. Giuridicamente, la baronia dipendeva dalla maiordomia di Gaasbeek. Lo scudo di Gooik con i tre martelli è derivato da quello della famiglia Cottignies, che governava Gooik come baroni.
