Westmeerbeek è un villaggio nella provincia belga di Anversa e una frazione di Hulshout. Westmeerbeek era un comune autonomo fino alla riorganizzazione comunale del 1977. Dopo che il Conte Ansfried divenne Vescovo di Utrecht nel 994, cedette una parte dei beni che possedeva nei Campi all Capitolo della Cattedrale di Utrecht. L'atto di donazione rimasto fa riferimento ai seguenti villaggi: OdloBolo, Myerbeke, Honbeke e Burente. Sebbene Westmeerbeek, secondo reperti archeologici, possa essere esistito già ai tempi dei Franchi e dei Merovingi, questo è fino ad ora il primo documento cartaceo ufficiale in cui si fa menzione del villaggio. La piazza triangolare franca non è più visibile direttamente, ma su vecchie mappe è molto chiaramente rintracciabile. Si estendeva dalla Netestraat fino all'Hoogzand, dove terminava in un punto.
