Daknam è una frazione di Lokeren dal 1976, è un villaggio di circa 1000 abitanti e grande 399,59 ettari, situato sulle rive della Durme. A Daknam sono stati trovati reperti del neolitico. Durante il periodo gallo-romano c'era una presenza abitativa più permanente. A partire dal XII secolo, Daknam era una parrocchia autonoma i cui diritti di patronato appartenevano all'abbazia di San Bavo.
