Veldegem è un villaggio nella provincia belga di West-Vlaanderen. Il villaggio è una frazione di Zedelgem dal 1977. Veldegem è un villaggio relativamente giovane, che si è sviluppato solo a partire dal XIX secolo. Oggi vi abitano più di 5500 persone. Veldegem è emerso secoli dopo i villaggi circostanti come "il campo di Zedelgem". Infatti, il territorio era in passato un'area boschiva e le vecchie mappe menzionano dune di terra, paludi e laghetti. Si sospetta che questo terreno infertile fosse chiamato quindi "'t Veld". Nelle vicinanze della futura stazione c'era già da secoli abitazione: la più antica menzione del Lepemolen, chiamato anche Veldmolen o Rommelsmolen, risale al 1645. Fu distrutto nel 1918. Lungo la Torhoutsesteenweg, vicino al confine con Torhout, c'era anche il Kronemolen.
