Il mulino Vermeulen fu costruito nel 1843, in sostituzione di un mulino a vento in legno. Il mulino si trova in Vlamertingsestraat, a Elverdinge. L'edificio è di proprietà della famiglia Vermeulen/Smagghe. Si tratta di un mulino per cereali, con un corpo molto alto
Le pale furono rimosse nel 1909 e il mulino fu azionato meccanicamente. Durante la Seconda Guerra Mondiale, il corpo del mulino fu utilizzato come posto di osservazione dai soldati tedeschi. Essi costruirono ulteriori strati di mattoni per avere una visione ancora migliore della regione.
