Situato nella Fagne di Entre-Sambre-et-Meuse, a nord-est del villaggio di Matagne-la-Grande, il sito comprende un insieme di praterie da taglio e una rete di siepi la cui grande valore paesaggistico e biologico è minacciato dall'intensificazione dell'agricoltura che è in corso da anni in questa straordinaria pianura ussed. Tra i gruppi vegetazionali più interessanti ci sono i cespugli di Molinion con le specie tipiche come la succisa (Succisa pratensis), il maiale-silaum (Silaum silaus), l'orientalis colorato d'autunno (Colchicum autumnale), e così via. Si deve inoltre notare la presenza lungo i lotti di pascolo delle fasce di rifugio, bordate da cespugli e arbusti, che sono di particolare importanza per la fauna erpetologica (lucertole e serpenti).
