Questo vecchio stagno si estende a sud del comune di Kelmis-La Calamine, al margine della Gueule. È circondato da una vegetazione variegata, che comprende salici, Magnocaricetum e strisce di canne molto attraenti per l'avifauna acquatica e di canne locale e migratoria (Rallo d'acqua, Cannaiola, Beccaccino ...). Diverse specie di piante rare si trovano qui, in particolare il Falso riso (Leersia oryzoides), un'erba in forte declino in Vallonia, che trova qui il suo habitat unico nel paese di Herve. A ovest dell'acqua si estende anche un interessante cumulo di calamina.
