In cima si trova un ex convento con annessa scuola e una grotta di Lourdes con processione del 1938. Anche il mulino Poelberg del 1726 si trova nel quartiere protetto di Poelberg . è un paesaggio protetto.
Fino alla metà del XIV secolo sul Poelberg non c'erano quasi insediamenti. Dopotutto, era un terreno di caccia per i nobili. La spiegazione dei pochi edifici risiede nell'allora fitto bosco di querce.
