Il Caterpillar di Wim Delvoye è stato installato sul lungomare di Middelkerke dal 2003. Tuttavia, l'esemplare che si può vedere ora non è l'originale. Quel lavoro originale si è trasferito nello stesso anno a Ground Zero a New York. L'attuale Caterpillar è lì dal 2004 e ha ricevuto a maggio 2019 un'espansione spettacolare con il rimorchio Flatbed Trailer. Insieme, creano un'opera d'arte nuova e imponente lunga 21 metri. Caterpillar + Flatbed Trailer fa parte della serie Caterpillar di Delvoye del 2002.
