La chiesa neogotica di Notre-Dame a Leffinge fu costruita dal 1877 al 1879. Sostituì un predecessore romanico-gotico in cattive condizioni. L'iniziatore fu il vescovo di Bruges Faict, originario di Leffinge.
Le 13 torri dell'edificio richiamano l'anno della sua nascita (1813). Anche nella chiesa di Leffinge incontriamo i Templari...
È così che la famiglia de Fauquemberghes, una nobile famiglia potente dell'epoca, deteneva in feudo l'altare e le decime della parrocchia di Leffinge dal conte delle Fiandre. Questa famiglia aveva legami stretti con i cavalieri templari.
Inoltre, uno dei loro antenati fu addirittura co-fondatore dell'ordine templare. Nel medioevo, la torre della chiesa veniva utilizzata per conservare le scelte dell'Ambito di Kamerling e dell'impero.
