Lohra è un comune nel distretto di Marburg-Biedenkopf nella Hesse centrale. Ha quasi 5500 abitanti, poco più della metà dei quali vive nella frazione che dà il nome al comune.
Il comune di Lohra si trova nella parte sud-occidentale del distretto, circa 15 chilometri a sud-ovest di Marburg e circa 20 chilometri a nord-ovest di Gießen. Nel territorio comunale si incontrano le propaggini più settentrionali delle colline di Gladenbach e le propaggini più sud-orientali delle Montagne Rothaar. Visto da una prospettiva storica, Lohra fa parte della regione di Marburger Land e confina a ovest con l'Hinterland dell'Assia.
