Quitzdorf am See è un comune sassone nel distretto di Görlitz. Il comune, che fa parte dell'associazione amministrativa di Diehsa, è nato nel 1994 dalla fusione di due comuni ed è stato nominato in onore del villaggio di Quitzdorf, che ha dovuto cedere il posto alla diga di Quitzdorf.
Il comune di Quitzdorf am See si trova nella parte centrale del distretto e confina a est con la città di Niesky. Quitzdorf am See è collegato alla rete stradale nazionale attraverso la strada federale 156 a ovest, la strada federale 115 a est e l'autostrada federale 4 a sud. Le prossime uscite autostradali in direzione est sono Kodersdorf e Nieder Seifersdorf, e in direzione ovest Weißenberg. Attraverso il comune passa la linea ferroviaria Węgliniec–Roßlau con una fermata a Petershain.
