La città di Uetersen [ˈyːtɐzən] (un tempo anche Ütersen (Holstein) e danese Yttersen) si trova nel distretto di Pinneberg in Schleswig-Holstein. È conosciuta come città delle rose e dei matrimoni lungo la Pinnau. Uetersen appartiene alla regione metropolitana di Amburgo, al paesaggio marittimo dell'Unterelbe e alla regione attiva della Marsch & Geest di Pinneberg. La cittadina con circa 17.800 abitanti è una delle città più densamente popolate della Schleswig-Holstein. La città funge da sotto-centro per i comuni rurali nella parte sud-occidentale del distretto di Pinneberg e come punto di riferimento per la fornitura di servizi, beni e infrastrutture. In totale, la città serve un'area circostante di circa 50.000 persone.
