Ober-Ramstadt si trova a circa 10 km a sud-est di Darmstadt sulla B 426 nella parte anteriore dell'Odenwald.
Sul fiume "Modau", che scorre attraverso Ober-Ramstadt, si trova il bacino di raccolta delle acque reflue di Ober-Ramstadt, che forma un lago artificiale di tre ettari. L'elevazione più alta nel comune è il "Hoher Rodberg", situato a 337 m s.l.m. Sulla cresta di queste alture passa la Hohe Straße, un'antica via di collegamento che probabilmente andava da Dieburg a Ober-Ramstadt in direzione della Bergstraße.
