Gößweinstein [si pronuncia: 'gœsvɐɪnʃtɐɪn] è un mercato e il comune più grande per superficie del distretto di Forchheim, nella Franconia Alta, con circa 4000 abitanti e si trova nella Svizzera Franconiana, sopra la confluenza dei fiumi Wiesent, Ailsbach e Püttlach presso Behringersmühle. Sono notevoli il castello e la basilica di pellegrinaggio costruita secondo i progetti di Balthasar Neumann.
Gößweinstein si trova nel cuore della Svizzera Franconiana, tra i tre comuni di Bamberg, Bayreuth e Norimberga.
