Il comune di Bienenbüttel è il centro della comunità unitaria di Bienenbüttel, situato nel mezzo della Heide di Lüneburg, nel nord del distretto di Uelzen, in Bassa Sassonia, al confine con il distretto di Lüneburg, tra Amburgo e Hannover.
Bienenbüttel è cresciuto notevolmente negli ultimi anni grazie alla sua vicinanza e ai buoni collegamenti stradali con le metropoli di Amburgo e Hannover, grazie a numerosi nuovi quartieri. Di conseguenza, Bienenbüttel si è espanso con le frazioni di Hohenbostel a nord, Wichmannsburg a est, Neu-Steddorf e Steddorf a ovest. Grazie alla creazione di aree commerciali, sono stati anche creati più posti di lavoro a livello locale, tuttavia la maggior parte degli abitanti di Bienenbüttel lavora al di fuori del comune.
