Rheinbach è una città nel distretto del Rhein-Sieg in Renania Settentrionale-Vestfalia e ha lo status speciale di "città di medie dimensioni appartenente a un distretto". Rheinbach si trova a 16 chilometri a sud-ovest del centro di Bonn.
Rheinbach si trova nella parte sinistra del Reno della Renania, a 16 km a sud-ovest del centro di Bonn e a 34 km a sud di Colonia. La città stessa si trova nella Voreifel, geograficamente nella baia di Swist, per la maggior parte ancora nella pianura della baia del Basso Reno; l'area urbana comprende anche alcuni villaggi delle montagne dell'Ahr, che si estendono a sud.
