Wetzendorf è un comune nel nord del Burgenlandkreis sulla riva destra dello Unstrut. Si estende lungo la vecchia strada del vino. Dal 1957, Wetzendorf è una frazione del comune di Karsdorf.
Il luogo, sviluppatosi come villaggio lungo la vecchia strada del vino, è menzionato per la prima volta nel 1061 come Widesendorp, cioè villaggio di un Widiso. Wetzendorf apparteneva alla signoria di Wiehe e nel 1539 passò ai signori di Werthern a Beichlingen. Nel comune si trovava una tenuta nobiliare che era sotto il possesso dei proprietari di Nebra.
