Il castello di Buchenau si trova a Buchenau tra Fulda e Bad Hersfeld ed è parte del comune di Eiterfeld.
Il castello è stato costruito dal 1611 al 1618 da Georg Melchior von Buchenau e sua moglie Agnes von Schwalbach in stile rinascimentale Weser. L'edificio più antico nel terreno del castello è la cosiddetta "Casa Generale", costruita da Georg von Buchenau e sua moglie Susanne von Mansbach nel 1550. Inoltre, nel terreno si trovano la Casa del Guardaboschi, dove risiedeva il guardaboschi responsabile della gestione della foresta di Buchenau, la Casa di Montagna costruita nel 1953 come residenza per studenti, la Casa dei Garage, l'antica fattoria, la Casa dei Seminari, un forno e la Casa del Cancelliere.
