Il Duomo di Ratzeburg è un eccezionale testimone dell'architettura romanica in mattoni del nord della Germania.
La chiesa, costruita a partire dal 1160 sotto il vescovo Evermod, si trova nel punto più alto della punta nord dell'isola della città vecchia di Ratzeburg. Essa ospita le reliquie di San Ansverus, ucciso nel 1066 durante la rivolta dei Vendi. Il duomo fu fondato da Enrico il Leone come chiesa vescovile della diocesi di Ratzeburg. Pertanto, è uno dei quattro cosiddetti "duomi dei leoni", che includono anche quelli di Schwerin, Lubecca e Brunswick. Una replica del leone di Brunswick si trova dal 1881 nel cortile del Duomo di Ratzeburg.
